Three Leashes Dog Walking & Pet Sitting-About Us

Meet the Owner

Lisa, the owner is pictured above with Katie her dog ( a hurricane Katrina rescue) has been a proud pet guardian and pet sitter for over 25 years.  The most important element in determining the quality of pet sitting is the experience of pet care and the bond with your animal of the pet sitter.  Lisa connects with animals and has the experience to bond with yours.

Three Leashes is insured and bonded, leaving you with peace of mind that your loved ones will be well cared for while you are at work, on a last minute trip or on that much needed vacation.

If your pets are like hers, you stress over the fact that your dog or cat doesn't adjust very well to new surroundings, gets stressed out or cannot interact well with other animals at a facility.

Like most of us, pets are out family members that we miss when we are not there.  If you are worried and do not want send  your pet to spend their days locked up in a cage in a loud environment with a bunch of stressed out other pets in a vets office or boarding kennel then in home pet sitting is for you.

Sure, your pets will still be missed, although for some cats I think we miss them more than they miss us, and although they may be lonely for the pet who prefers quiet to kaos, remember this, they are in their own environment and comfortable bed and surroundings with peace and quiet no stress.

Experience includes pet sitting dogs, cats, kittens, puppies, birds, reptiles, small mammals. Lisa and her partner, Nelson are in the process of completing a pet first aid course.   As the business expands and any staff that is hired will be completing and required to do a pet first aid course.  We are able to give pill  and medicine administration along with fluid injections and have our own vet we are familiar with.

The goal of Three Leashes Pet Sitting is to provide your pets with the same routine care your pets are used from the comfort of their own home and surroundings either while you are at work or on an extended vacation which reduces stress and anxiety.

Adopt Your Pet!
Meet our Pets.  A story posted in the News about Miracle Dog Survives Gas Chamber October 28, 2011  shows the importance of adoption.  Each of our pets was adopted when no else wanted them and they turned out to be exceptional they just had to be given a chance.  Please consider adoption- for those of you wanting a pure breed- there are rescue groups for every kind.  Look at ours....Golden Retrievers, Beagles, Dashounds... all adopted!

Realizing there was a need to provide owners with another option for pet care  Lisa made it official after all her years of dog walking and pet sitting and created Three Leashes in 2009 to bring calm and well being to your pet to reduce anxiety and stress while incorporating excersize, love and attention when you are not there.

September 2005- Hurricane Katrina- Lisa traveled and volunteered with Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in a search and rescue mission in Lousianna and Mississippi for three weeks.  During her stay she volunteered in the clinic ( photo shown) where she cared for the sickest and injured animals on the grounds by maintaining cleanliness, feeding, walking and medicine adminsitration.  Other volunteer duties during this time included caring for the "back 40" which is where most of the larger dogs were kept, her job here was cleanliness, feeding, watering attention.

A word from Lisa "This was a high trauma situation where I and hundreds of volunteers from all over the country that had no idea what they were going to do to help and were thrown into a situation that was unlike any others ever seen in this country.  We saw trauma, stayed up 24 hours a day to process these animals due to the fact there were so many that were lost and abandoned.   This included rescue from New Orleans flooding, which in my eyes, it was worse than the images on TV portrayed.  Dogs, cats and other mammals were brought to Tylertown, MS and a makeshift rescue that Best Friends set up to house these animals that were traumatized by flooding, starvation, disease and dogs hunting dogs for food.  It was what I can describe best only as a warzone for domestic animals"

To this day with all the rescue and adoptions I have been involved with it was by far the most rewarding experience I ever had in my life.  It was here we learned alot about trauma, breed personalities and working with very little and it has given me the experience to carry over to my pet sitting business."
